so this is my second time making a mini album. This time I followed the tutorial which made it a little less messy and chaotic than the first time.
Read MoreAn attempt
My first attempt turned out a bit sloppy but it was my first time. It's definitely one of the more difficult stitches to pull off without some prior practice. I'll have to practice it a few more times before I can work out the right tension and the right way to maneuver the book while I'm stitching it up.

So for the binding of this particular book I thought I'd try to use the fabric that I bought as strips with a French Link stitch. At first I struggled to pick a color for the string because I didn't have any pastel colors...

so lately I've been in a rather creative rut. I thought learning a new stitch or scrolling through Pinterest would help get the creative juices flowing but it didn't.
Still it wasn't without its used.. I had an abundance of paper left over from my recent commission and lots of books to make. I looked through the cut files I had on my cameo and then slowly an idea began to formulate.

The other day I decided I want to play around a little and see what I can do with some distress inks and my newly acquired Silhouette Cameo. I didn't want to make a big book or an elaborate one so I thought I'd make little saddle stitched notepads.

This is a sad, sad day for me. I was so close! So close to finishing this lovely journal and putting to one side in a protected corner. Things were going well; I had everything planned. I began preparing the cloth I picked with some Heat'n'Bond and tissue paper to make it easier for gluing. I cut a piece and things were going swimmingly!

Read MoreTablet Case out of Chipboard!
This is an idea that came to me when I realized that the tablet case I was using was being a pain. The magnetic closure on the tablet, when flipped back to fold behind the tablet, interfered with the device and put it to sleep while I was using. It was frustrating and I felt I wasted my money on what was supposed to be a good tablet. So, I thought to myself 'how hard could it to be to make a tablet case out of chipboard and paper?. The answer: Very hard.

I am happy to announce that my blog is now self-hosted! It was a random step really and a big one. A few days ago, I decided I wanted to buy a domain and put my blog on a website. I want this website to have everything about me from my writing, my blogging, my graphic design and even my crafting. I wanted to mash everything that is me into one place. I guess it’s like a mark of a new beginning. A step towards a certain direction that could be wrong or could be right, who knows?
Without further ado, I give you my website:
www.franticfox.com
and I hope you can join me on this journey of growth and self-discovery.
Thank you all for your continuing support and participation.
