I think it's one of the most important traits a person should have and keep in mind. Nowadays, it's so easy to give in to the darkness in the world. We look at all the tragedy that happens around and wonder 'What happened to us?' It's so easy to get locked into that cycle where the evil that goes around everywhere eats away at you one horrifying article or video after the other.
We should always remind ourselves that a silver lining exists. We might not see it today or tomorrow but it's out there somewhere, waiting to shine through after the storm. We see it in the good that people do for each other, the simple things that brighten ones day. You know, those 'Faith in humanity restored' type of things.
There's nothing wrong with being positive and hoping for the best but when does being positive become naive and gullible?
Could it ever really be?
