Here Goes Nothing...

I sat here for the longest time thinking about what my first post was going to be in this blog. I even went around and distracted myself from it; hopefully to purposefully forget that I spent a few moments to register and the hours following it trying to find the right theme and put together the right colors. I even googled things like "How to start a blog" and "How to write a first post" and other similar topics, trying to cram all sorts of information on blogging into my brain just to be able to sit and type out this first post. I then turned to my friends, asking them: "What should my first post be? Where do I even start?" and one of them said to me: "Just dive in.. Don't treat it as a first post; pretend you've been blogging since forever" and that seemed like a good place to start. Then I started to think about what this post should contain, what it should be about. Should I talk in length about myself? What would there be to say?

My name is Sally Al-Ashary, I'm 23 years old and I'm from Saudi Arabia. I started this blog to overcome my shyness and to overcome my fear of failure. By giving myself a weekly goal of posting in this Blog, I want to teach myself the discipline of maintaining it. As for the purpose of this Blog, I'm yet unsure. I know that may seem vague to you but I'm hoping this journey is one of discovery. There's so much I want to do and I guess this Blog can help me put my thoughts in order. I'm hoping you could join me on this journey by adding to these random thoughts and ideas and helping me organize them into neat files and categories.

I'm hoping one day this space blooms into a community that encourages discussion and the exchange of ideas and thoughts. [For whatever reason, I feel like I've already said this!]

To shorten the story that has already gotten way too long, I'm here to write until a direction is decided and to end this blog on a cheery note, remember to always smile. Whenever things get hectic in your life, just remember to stop, take a deep breath and smile and to further explain, I leave it up to my favorite peeps at FHP [For Human Peoples] to tell the hows and whys through this beautifully created video..

Quote of the Day:

“I was smiling yesterday,I am smiling today and I will smile tomorrow.Simply because life is too short to cry for anything.” ― Santosh Kalwar, Quote Me Everyday

I wish you all a bright day and remember to always smile. =)
