D is for Distractions

Distractions; how this word and I have become great friends lately. I am the worst when it comes to one-track sort of tasks. I can't sit still long enough to save my life; especially if the task requires my utmost focus and attention.

Anything could distract me, I'm like a hyper puppy who just wants to hop and run around chasing my own tail, hoping to catch it! But then when I do, I'm not sure what to do with it.

A good trick I found, especially when I need to sit and bind some books, is to listen to an audio book. Listening to music is the worst mainly because I have to focus on the lyrics but I can't do that since I also have to focus on my work. I could be distracted by anything from social media to texting to even organizing my craft supplies.

What methods do you have to help you stay focused?
